Does anybody else get that apathetic feeling sometimes? Like you just want to sit in front of the computer all day because you don't care enough to do anything else? I feel that way a lot - right now, for instance.
And the thing is, I know I shouldn't feel this way. I have plenty of stuff in my room to keep me busy; my games, my books, my art, my fanfictions which I haven't written yet. But sometimes I get this way where I don't have the energy or drive to do any of them. It sucks, because I don't know how I can knock myself out of it. If I was merely anxious, I could take something. Is there medicine for apathy? Something to look up, I guess.
What do you guys do when you just don't care? How do you get back that spark? Lord knows I could use some advice.
You just said "Lord knows" . And he does. Whey don't you go to Him In prayer.
ReplyDeleteI probably should, but I wouldn't know what to say. I'm not particularly devout.
DeleteThis may not be helpful, but honestly, I sometimes just have to wait it out. I definitely go through the dry spells that you are talking about, but inspiration does eventually hit me again; it just takes time.
ReplyDeleteWaiting is hard, though, I realize. I do find it helps to fill myself with positive thoughts and "inspiration" in the meantime, even if it doesn't seem that inspiring or exciting when I'm in my dry spell. For me, listening to good music, watching an engaging movie, or spending time in nature can help reawaken my love for life a lot sooner.
Whatever your journey ends up looking like, I wish you the best.
Thanks. I usually do just wait my apathy out when it comes around. It helps that I've felt this way a lot before - it reminds me that it passed then and will do so now.
DeleteI know the exact feeling you're talking about, man. My advice to you? Drive. Drive if you can. Get in your car or on your bicycle or just strap on your running shoes and go until you read a crossroad. flip a coin to figure out which branch you'll take. Keep going until you've found something or someone that brings back that spark of inspiration. The world is out there and its waiting to inspire you. All you need to do is go out and see it.

My comment would be to go outside into nature and walk...just walk and enjoy the beauty of the world. It is so much bigger than we are and I find great joy in that. Do something out of the ordinary...
